Meika C. Lalonde

Meika practices in the area of business immigration law and works with clients to develop short and long term strategies to employ top talent, fill labour shortages, ensure compliance with evolving immigration regulations and statutes, and conduct international business in Canada. She assists clients to effectively leverage the various types of business visitor categories, work permits and permanent residence options available to them.  Meika is also experienced in helping foreign workers and their accompanying family members to overcome potential inadmissibility issues, including criminality. 

Meika received her law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2003. Prior to joining McCrea & Associates in 2012, she worked for a multi-national software company where she provided immigration expertise and managed immigration compliance on a global basis, and for a national law firm and boutique human resources firm as an immigration lawyer.  She has worked and studied internationally, including in Mexico, England and France.

Meika is Vice Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Immigration Law Subsection of British Columbia and Vice Chair of the Canadian Employee Relocation Council’s Pacific Regional Committee.  She is also a volunteer lawyer at Access Pro Bono’s immigration law clinics in Vancouver.
