Citizenship

Our experienced legal team provides a full range of services relating to Canadian citizenship.

Permanent residents may be able to obtain a grant of citizenship after a period of residency. Citizenship may also be obtained by birth to a Canadian parent, even if born aboard.

On April 17, 2009, new changes to the Citizenship Act will take effect and Canadian citizenship may be granted to those who have lost it or to people who were not considered citizens prior to the changes.

If you think you may have lost your Canadian citizenship or may be entitled to citizenship under the proposed changes, we can assist you in determining whether you could retain, resume or obtain your citizenship.

We are also highly experienced in representing clients in hearings before citizenship judges, the Federal Court and in citizenship revocation proceedings.
