This category is for skilled workers and professionals.  Applicants are assessed points for education, work experience, language ability, age, adaptability and whether they have arranged emplyoyment in Canada.

Significant changes to this category were introduced in late 2008.  You are now eligible to apply in this category only if you have a guaranteed job offer in Canada, if you have been working or studying in Canada for at least a year, or if you have recent work experience in an approved occupation.
