Deborah Calazans

Our very own in-house Carioca, Deborah originally hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she earned her degree in Journalism before moving to Canada. Following her formal education, Deborah worked for a time as a press officer with Olympic athletes. However, the Brazilian Olympic team's loss was ultimately Canada's gain when Deborah made the decision to move here. 

Deborah's connection with Canada goes back over a decade, and it was love at first sight. Deborah has been immersed in Canadian immigration policy and work for more than 11 years now, a field that despite being outside her original field of study, she's grown to deeply love. Helping others achieve their immigration dreams truly drives Deborah, especially given her close personal experience with the process.

In her free time, Deborah enjoys going to the gym and eating well (but don’t worry—she's no stiff!). Deborah is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish and hopefully... karaoke at Christmas parties!
